We are delighted to have secured the services of a dedicated physiotherapist for Kargil this year, who will be working as a volunteer at the therapy centre for two months. She already has experience of working with children and will use her expertise to support our team and enrich the work on the ground. Rosemarie Geenen and Heike Holz will be there to guide and support her. We hope that this joint effort will improve the quality of and strengthen our collaboration with the local team.

Hello everyone!

I’m Milena from Mainz and I’m delighted to be travelling to Ladakh this year and to have the opportunity to work for Ladakh Hilfe.

Back in 2024, I travelled through the mountains of Ladakh and northern India with my rucksack, and even then I knew I wanted to return.

During my training as a physiotherapist at the BFW in Mainz in 2018, I discovered my passion for paediatric therapy and have specialised in this field ever since. Working in various practices and most recently at the University Medical Centre in Frankfurt, I was able to learn a great deal, deepen my knowledge and gain valuable experience, which I now hope to bring with me to Ladakh.

Last November, I was awarded my Bobath certificate in Hamburg by Claudia Reitz and Gaby Kallinowski, who have taken my work with the Bobath concept to a new level and had a lasting influence on me.

I have also completed further training in paediatrics, including three-dimensional manual foot therapy according to Zukunft-Huber, DMI Level A with Jake Kreindler, as well as therapeutic treatment approaches in paediatrics, reflex integration therapy and a workshop on reflex locomotion according to Vojta.

I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Ladakh, where I can combine my passion for the mountains with my profession and support local families.
