On the day of the Annual General Meeting - 6 June 2024 - the farewell to the founder and director of Ladakh-Hilfe and REWA-Society Leh and Kargil was appropriately celebrated. A big celebration was organised in Kargil and thanks were paid to Karola Wood for her tireless work. With many tears and shining eyes, the many years were remembered and Karola Wood was sent off into the new phase of her life with best wishes - of course with the hope of seeing her again in Ladakh!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved and in particular the previous members of the Board for their great work!

As the new Board, we will endeavour to continue the work in an equally sustainable, visionary and enthusiastic manner.

Many thanks to you, Karola Wood, for the wonderful work, the energy, the passion and the time that you have put into this project and given to the people.

In line with the motto ‘Give a starving man a fish and you will save him from death today. Teach him to catch fish! He and his family will be provided for for life’ (Confucius), you have managed to build something that, although not yet completely out of its infancy, is slowly on its way to independence and self-sufficiency. We look forward to continuing this work!
