Lobzang Dolma is the sister of our founding child Stanzing and, with the support of Ladakh-Hilfe, ventured out of the small mountain village of Lingshed into the great outdoors. After successfully completing school, she graduated from Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirappalli/India with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Rehabilitation Science. The focus of her interest and her work was and is the current state of research on the topic of cerebral palsy in children. She gained practical experience through internships during her studies (Holy Cross Blossom Opportunity School for Special Children Trichy, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled Bangalore) and while working at our therapy center in Leh. She is currently working in a public center as a counselor focusing on drug prevention.

However, her greatest wish is to continue working in the field of rehabilitation sciences and to conduct research on cerebral palsy. For this reason, Lobzang Dolma applied this year for admission to the Ph.D. program at Bharathidasan University and was successfully accepted. However, after consulting with the university, the earliest opportunity to join a project would not be until mid-2025. To make the most of this time, she has begun a bachelor’s degree in “Intellectual Disabilities” (Bachelor of Education, B.Ed.) at a private university in Kolkata, which is a prerequisite for employment in India’s education system. 
We would like to support Lobzang on her ambitious journey. Since she will be pursuing both the B.Ed. and Ph.D. programs as distance learning courses with occasional in-person sessions, the process will take approximately 4–5 years. The total cost will be around 5,000 euros. Thanks to several supporters who helped fund Lobzang’s dream, she has already completed half of the B.Ed. program. For personal reasons, she will be taking a break of several months.
