My second journey from Ladakh to Kolkata on January 24th 2025 was really great, and I didn't face any problems during my travel time. I got a PG (paying guest) hostel near my university, and it only takes five minutes to travel. I stayed for 15 days in Kolkata for the class. The theory parts are very easy for me because I have already learnt in Tamil Nadu. The practical parts are totally different from Tamil Nadu. I like most practical parts because they are giving us individual patients to prepare for the Case study, IEP (Individualized Education Program IEP full form).
Functional Assessment checklist for programming (FSCP). Mostly they focus on Intellectual Disability and Autism only. Inside the campus there is a physiotherapist unit, an Occupational therapist unit, an Autism unit and an Intellectual Disability unit in our department. There is also Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) and the National Institute For Locomotor Disabilities Kolkata centre. I like most Intellectual Disability and Autism practicals. Theory, I like all the subjects like:
1. Multiple Disability
2. Cerebral palsy
3. Autism
4. Intellectual Disability
5. Hearing impairment
6. Methodology of Research
7. Growth and Development
I’m studying first a comprehensive study of education. It’s all related to education. It’s our part of the subject. It is really an amazing class, and I’ll learn so many things from this university. In the morning, they send us to a special school for practicals and in the afternoon we have a theory class. The staff of universities is too polite. The teachers speak bilingual because some students don’t know English and Hindi. I'm learning Bengali because I have to take the class for special children.
Our subject coordinator told us that coming march 2025 they will conduct the second PCP but till yet they didn’t inform us the date. My PG owner is their home, and they are giving rental for the students because it takes only five minutes from my university. The owners of the house are really sweet, and they provide delicious meals even though they are eating the same meals that they are providing us. This PG is safe for me.
