On 4th 07 2011,
Rewa Disability Kargil team (Director
-Karola and Uli, 2 physical therapist- 1 German volunteer physical
therapist namely Anna, a local physical therapist namely S.Chokla
and 2 Physio Aid Norbo and Hamida) reached Zanskar from Kargil (230
Km), for their field trip.

Chokla
The first patient
was form Rangdum Monastery as he is a monk (namely Stanzin Tusdop
and he has congenital right side Hemiplegic) but to their disappointment
the patient was not there. So the team travels to next village where
the divided themselves into two team (so that each patient get the
valuable duration of treatment) one team went to a village named Chipra
(patient name Lobzang Youdon suffering from some fixed motor deficit)
and second team to Aksho village (patient name stanzin Youdon suffering
from Cerebral Palsy physical disability is minimal now).
The last village
was Himiling where they have one patient (namely stanzin Namdol who
has Hydrocephalus though the mild one not so serious and his mental
and physical development were now normal so the team). Then the team
reached Stongday village where they kept as their stay point (to spend
night as long as they are there in Zanskar for the field trip).
5th 2011 the team
went to Zangla village where they have one patient (namely Padma Youdon,
whose mother has passed away few years back, her hygienic condition
was terrible so the team decided that along with the physical therapy
treatment the patient also needs a caretaker (the team will pay her
some money on monthly basis) who can bath her, change her dresses,
bed sheets as she is totally dependent on her family members and doesn't
have urine and faeces control, concerning the same the team met Dr.
Stanzin who is the Block developmental Officer and the King of Zangla
Village, they all assured that they will find a helper and also look
after that the helper does her work with dedication.

Badly neglected
Padma
The team then headed
towards Padum (town of Zanskar) where one team stayed back in Padum
to treat the patient namely Jaan Mohmad (Left hemiplegic) and the
second team headed towards the Sani Village to treat a patient namely
Angchuk whos was suffering from mild cerebellum deficit . Both teams
met in Padum again and then from there they headed towards Karsha
village where they have two patients to be treated but to their disappointment
one of the patient who was a monk and who was suffering from a congenital
torticollis was not there in the monastery as he went to another village
for some religious ritual, but the second patient namely Ringchen
Dolma (left hemiplegic) was there.

6th 2011 one of
the team went to Phey village to treat a patient namely Tsering Gaysen
who was suffering from Scoliosis and the second team went to Atting
Village where they found that one of the patient passed away 6 months
before, the team treated the second patient namely Stanzin Jegyat.
The team went to Ruk Ruk village where they found that the child have
been send to Himachal for his schooling from there the team went to
the next village Neyrow where they treated the patient namely Stanzin
Stomo (Congenital Scoliosis).

7th 2011 the team
went to Lungnak Valley (where the team had to trek for 4 hours as
there was no motor able road with all the aid equipments), the team
reached Cha village where they has 2 patients to be treated namely
Stanzin Dolma (scoliosis) and Stanzin Palchok (Right Hemiplegic),
initially the team decided that one team stays back in Cha village
and treat them and the one team goes to Testa Kuru village (for which
they have to track for 3 more hours but a villager told them that
one of the patient namely Stanzin Tsultim Kuru, is gone to Leh to
continue his studies in Central institiute of Buddhist Studies and
the second patient namely Lobzang Eshay moved to Padum as her father
passed away and her mother is from Padum but she is not going to school
due to financial problem.

8th 2011 the team
started back to Padum from Cha village and the next village Iccher
(motor able road) they have one patient to be treated but they found
the patient is in Jammu for his schooling.
9th 2011 the team
went to Stongday monastry to treat a patient namely Thuptan Chotak
a monk (Right Hemiplegic).

10th 2011 the team
headed towards Kargil and on the way back they stopped in Bakartse
village to treat a patient tsewang yangdol (Cerebral Palsy) and the
second patient namely stanzin sonam, they found has gone to Karnataka
to become a monk.
