Nubra
Field trip September 2011
On dated
12th 09 2011 the the Rewa Team namely 2 German volunteers Elizabeth
and Sandra - both occupational therapist - and the field officer
and Physio Aid namely Thinles Norbu went to Nubra for the field
trip.
In total they had 8 patients which they had to treat during that
field trip, the patients were from different villages of Nubra Block
of Leh Ladakh namely the patients were:
- Diskit Angmo (from Diskit village of Nubra Block), who is suffering
from Mild Hemiplegia (paralysis) Right side, the prognosis/improvement
is mild since last year.
- Tsering Dorjay (Chamshen village of Nubra Block), again suffering
from mild hemiplegia and the prognosis of the patient is good.
-Tsering Dorjay (Sumur village from Nubra block), suffering from
incomplete spinal cord paraplegia), for his urine problem they gave
him urine catheter and urine bag for 7 months and he has gain muscle
strength much more as compare to past.
- Ali Brothers - the two patients from Bokdang of Nubra Block, both
of them are suffering from congenital (inborn) disease, the team
told the parents to come to Leh with the children and they promise
to pay all the transport and accommodations charges so the team
can get them to the hospital for thourough medical check up for
secondary complications and to get the two children a government
pension which wont be much approximately Rs 300-500 a month each.
Like wise the other two patients from Nubra block was treated.
