"Description
World Challenge Website:
About World Challenge: Education through exploration - World Challenge
is the original schools expedition company offering an unrivalled
range of expedition programmes focused 100% on the education of young
people, stretching comfort zones and expanding minds outside the classroom.
Every bespoke programme we deliver is designed with the students’
personal development in mind and see young people involved in planning
and fundraising their way to the experience of a lifetime. The life
skills they learn will not only aid personal growth, but can help
secure university places and impress future employers
The
UK’s key employers voted World Challenge by name as the fourth most
important activity undertaken at school, above activities such as
Young Enterprise and sporting events. These organisations rated leadership,
teamwork, self-motivation, communication, confidence, consideration
of others and the ability to learn as being the key determinants in
the selection of employees; all of which are World Challenge’s life
skills. "
In
July 2011 we had the priviledge to host 2 groups of 16 year old youth
with their leaders. They lived in tents on our ground for 5 days the
second and fourth week of July.

We had prepared projects for
them:
The
first group of 18 kids split in 2 teams, one renovated the living
quarters of an old and poor woman, the onther painted a wonder REWA
sign outside of our woll surrounding the RAC.

Girls
from the first team at the picknick in Shey
The
second group of 16 kids split, one team contructed a "little
house" for the special children to use, the other team contructed
a shade for the playground out of a parachute.

Second
group in the RAC

One
team is working on the "Little House"

"Little
House" finished and with children in it

The
other group constucted this gorgeous sun shade
All
of them also participated in activities with our children, played
games with them, helped with a picknick and observed the work we do.
We had a lot of fund with the kids and would love to enjoy their engagement
with REWA in the years to come.
Thanks a lot kids!!!!
